Bravo Sister! Parenting with common sense & common courtesy. Why don't people get it?

I totally agree with you 100%. Adults and kids alike dragging chairs with no respect for those around them. Jars my nerves. Europeans are naturally loud, as my parents and family are..something about the old country! Not defending, just noting.

This made me work-out today. Working out IS just like raising good kids, they don't fall out of the sky, and neither does a fit body. You do it when you don't feel like it because it has to be done - just like mothering.

It's often a matter of cultural differences. Some groups are more boisterous and jovial. This may be seen as obnoxious - even ignorant - by groups of opposite customs. Similarly, jovial folks may view their opposites as rigid and uppity.

We very much have similar parenting styles. I cannot STAND these people who let their child do anything because they think it's adorable. And they should know that what's adorable at 5 is often HELL when they're older and then it's too late.

You know what drives me nuts- my husband, my two boys ages 10 & 7 and I go out for a nice family dinner and so many times I see parents letting their children run around the restaurant- it makes me crazy.

i think you jinxed me...had the joy of eating with my family at a restaurant yesterday...out of control little boy behind us...we heard the mom say loudly to her boy "now honey, forks are for eating...NOT for stabbing people in the face" priceless...

Susan you are preaching to my choir. We took our sons out to restaurants from a young age & when they tried to act up, the behavior was stopped immediately. It's sad that their good manners are in the minority.

It seems as though common sense has flown out the window.
Our Children have been taught manners, and I am amazed how many times adults have come up and complemented the Children because of it. Why is this not "NORMAL" to do anymore? How sad. |
